Determination of Violence In Cartoon Movies Published In Children's Channels

Özet
Giriş: Günümüzde önemli bir toplumsal sorun olan şiddet çizgi filmler aracılığıyla çocuklara kolayca aktarılmaktadır.Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, çocuk kanallarında yayınlanan çizgi filmlerdeki şiddet varlığını ve unsurlarını belirlemek,konuya dikkat çekmek ve bu konuda sağlık çalışanlarının farkındalığını arttırmaktır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki çalışmanınverileri 2012 yılı Haziran ayının ilk haftasında, üç çocuk kanalında rasgele seçilen çizgi filmler, veri toplama formu eşliğindeizlenerek toplandı. Veri toplama formu fiziksel, sözel ve ruhsal şiddet unsurlarını içeren 3 bölümden oluştu. Veriler SPSS 10.0paket programında değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Araştırmada yapılan izlemlerin 62'sinde (%68.9) fiziksel, sözel ve ruhsal şiddetunsurlarından en az biri bulundu. İzlemlerin 43'ünde (%47.8) fiziksel, 38'inde (%42.2) ruhsal, 32'sinde (%35.6) sözel şiddetunsurları tespit edildi. Şiddet görüntüleri süre olarak incelendiğinde; 10800 saniyelik izlem süresinin 843 saniyesinin şiddetiçeren görüntülerden oluştuğu belirlendi. Süre olarak en fazla görülen şiddet unsuru fiziksel şiddet olup, toplam şiddetsüresinin yarısını (432 sn) oluşturdu. İzlem yapılan 3 kanal karşılaştırıldığında, şiddet unsuru bulunması açısından kanallararasında istatistiksel anlamlı fark bulundu (p < .05). Sonuç: Çocuk TV kanallarındaki çizgi filmlerin çoğunda fiziksel şiddetbaşta olmak üzere şiddet unsurlarının yer aldığı belirlendi.
Abstract
Background: Today the violence is an important social problem that is easily transmitted to children through cartoons. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the violence and the elements of violence in cartoons shown on television in children channels and to draw attention to issue and to increase awareness health workers.Method: This study was descriptive design. The data was collected during the first week of June of the year 2012 by watching selected randomly cartoons in three different children's channels by the data collection form. The data collection form included three sections such as elements of physical, verbal and psychological violence. SPSS 10.0 programme was used for data analysis.Results: It was found that 62 (68.9%) watching had at least one element of physical, verbal and psychological violence. Forty-three (47.8%) watching had physical, 38 (42.2%) watching had psychological and 32 (35.6%) watching had verbal violence elements. When violent images were analyzed in terms of duration it was determined that 843 seconds (7.8%) had violence images and the physical violence was the most common violence element that consisted half of the total violent time (432 seconds). When three channels compared for violence elements, it was found statistically significant difference between the channels (p< .05). Conclusion: It was found that most of the cartoon movies had violence elements especially physical violence elements.
