Sports-Camp Tourism Potantial of Erzurum

Abstract

Sports-Camp Tourism which can be defined as the evaluation of the activities of different types of sports teams during their camps, also called as preparation period, in terms of the concept of tourism, draws great attention as an activity with various prerequisites. Preference of Erzurum as the camp place by some sports teams and sportsmen in the last ten years; and many good examples in the world, led us to determine the geographical bases of this activity and to explore the potential for it that we assume to exist. The primary aims of this research are to show the development possibilities of this activity -which might be"'On economical source for both Erzurum and its surroundings as long as enough presentation and proper investments are made- in Erzurum and its limitations.

Farklı spor türlerinin hazırlık dönemleri olarak da adlandınlabilen kamp dönemlerindeki faaliyetlerin, turizm olgusu içinde değerlendirilmesi olarak tanımlayabileceğimiz spor-kamp turizmi, oldukça çeşitli önşartlara sahip bir faaliyet olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Son on yıl içerisinde ulusal ve uluslar arası düzeydeki bazı takım ve sporcuların Erzurum 'u kamp yeri olarak tercih etmesi ve Dünya 'daki birçok olumlu Örnek, bizi bu faaliyet kolunun coğrafi temellerini ortaya koymaya ve var olduğunu düşündüğümüz mevcut potansiyeli tespit etmeye yönlendirmiştir. Yeterli tanıtım ve amaca uygun yatırımların yapılması halinde Erzurum ve yakın çevresi için önemli bir ekonomik kaynak olacağını tahmin ettiğimiz bu faaliyet kolunun Erzurum'da gelişme olanakları ve sınırlılıklarını ortaya koymak, araştırmanın öncelikli hedefleridir.
