Substructure of Tourisim in Sivas and the Level of Support of Urban Substructure for Tourism

Sivas Şehrinde Turizm Altyapısı ve Kentsel Alt Yapının Turizmi Destekleme Düzeyi

Abstract

A destination should have many components which are expected to support each other in order to take attention of tourists on. These attractions can be ranked as tourism and urban infrastructure. Tourism is a mechanism, which starts with presentation continue with transportation and communication, come to an end with accommodation foundations, urban services and their complementaries. All of the components are important in this mechanism. But, tourism infrastructure and urban infrastructure are main determinatives of tourism movement. By another expression, even if a destination has a unique value in whole world, it is useless for tourism movement without supporting it by tourism and urban infrastructure. In this sense, in spite of important quantity of tourism attractions, Sivas town and whole of the city can’t take tourists at the same rate in the region. Consequently, in our study, this contradictory situation is held with every aspects and tourism and urban infrastructure investigated which are main determinatives in tourism movement. The results of the research findings at different quantity and it is seen that the tourism and urban infrastructure are not well enough to support tourism in Sivas.

Özet

Bir destinasyonun turist çekebilmesi için birçok bileşenin var olması ve bir birini desteklemesi gereklidir. Bunları çekicilikler, turizm altyapısı ve kentsel altyapı şeklinde sıralamak mümkündür. Turizm tanıtımla başlayan, ulaştırma ve iletişimle devam eden, konaklama tesisleri, kentsel hizmetler ve onların tamamlayıcıları ile son bulan bir mekanizmadır. Bu mekanizma içerisinde bütün bileşenler önemlidir. Ancak, turizm altyapısı ve kentsel altyapı turizm hareketinin temel belirleyicilerindendir. Diğer bir ifadeyle dünyada eşi olmayan özel bir çekiciliğe sahip olsanız dahi bunu destekleyen turizm ve kentsel altyapınız yoksa turizmi harekete geçiremezsiniz. Bu anlamda önemli ölçüde turizm çekiciliğine sahip olduğunu düşündüğümüz Sivas şehri ve hatta bütün il, aynı oranda turist alamamaktadır. Dolayısıyla çalışmamızda bu tezat durum bütün yönleriyle ele alınmış ve temel belirleyicilerden olan turizm altyapısı ve kentsel altyapı araştırılmıştır. Ortaya çıkan araştırma bulguları farklı oranlarda olmakla beraber, Sivas şehrinde turizm altyapısı ve kentsel altyapının büyük oranda turizmi desteklemediği görülmüştür.
