Türkiye de Germanistik: Sona mı Gelindi?

Abstract

The German Language and Literature Departments at Turkish universities are in a crisis for some timenow as the youth who know German is steadily losing their interest in these departments due to problemsin finding a job after graduation and thus prefer departments providing better opportunities.The programs of the German Language and Literature Departments are being revised in order toprovide job opportunities at national and international levels for their graduates. The present articlereviews the status of German Language and Literature Departments, the problems of students currentlystudying at these departments, and discusses some possible solutions.
