Abstract

As suggested by Adler and Freud, fathers have a good relation with their daughters and mothers with theirsons. This observation about the real life works just the opposite in the fictive world of the novel InsOffene by Karl-Heinz Ott published in 1998. The main problems making the mother-son relationship difficult are the separation of the parents,differing characters of the son and mother, the excessive dependency of the mother on the son, and thepatriarchal rural society.
