Abstract

This article depicts the traditional Turkish understanding of honour, its forms and impact on the positionand tasks of women and men in family and society. In particular, the text outlines factors favouringhonourable murders in general and in migration contexts, which lead to these criminal acts being ignoredin public life. For this purpose, the author refers to Feo Aladag's migrant drama entitled Die Fremde,where this socially controversial issue was handled and thus brought to light. The film mentioned, withscenes closely linked to reality, handles the phenomenon in question in a critical and objective way.
