Abstract

One of the poets who successfully handled the Hikemi (erudite) style in his poems in Divan poetry after Nâbî isKoca Râgıb Pasha. Râgıb Pasha, who left his mark on thecentury he lived in with Hikemî style, became the pioneerof erudite poetry and a strong follower of Nâbî in thiscentury, making a strong impression with his berceste(distinguished) verses. His greatest contribution to thisstyle, which found its expression in the form of irsâl-ı mesel(parable), was the transformation of the idea into poetry.One of the aspects that Râgıb Pasha, who provided thistransformation, added to the Hikemi style is thephenomenon of bravery and valor. The poet expressed thisphenomenon in a valorous manner and blended them withhis hikemî style. When we look at his Divan, it is seen thathis discourses about valor and bravery are expressedconcisely due to his poetic style. According to the sources,it is seen that these poems, in which the virtuous tone isdominant, are based on the political understanding of theUmayyad period. The praise patterns used by the poets inthat period while praising the caliphs, later it wascontinued in Persian and Turkish poetry. It is seen thatthese that these expressions in Râgıp Pasha discourses aredepicted in a valorous manner, including the bravery of thememduh (panegyric) and his poetic nature. Divan şiirinde Nâbî’den sonra hikemî üslubu şiirlerindebaşarıyla ele alan şairlerden biri Koca Râgıb Paşa’dır. RâgıbPaşa, yaşadığı yüzyıla Hikemî tarz ile damga vurarak hikmetlişiirin öncüsü ve Nâbî’nin bu yüzyıldaki güçlü takipçisi olmuş,berceste mısralarıyla göz doldurmuştur. Onun, irsâl-ı meselşeklinde ifadesini bulan bu tarza en büyük katkısı, fikri şiiredönüştürmesi olmuştur. Bu dönüşümü sağlayan RâgıbPaşa’nın Hikemî üsluba kattığı yönlerden biri de yiğitlik vemertlik olgusudur. Bu olguları şair, mertçe bir eda iledillendirmiş, hikemî üslubu ile harmanlamıştır. Divânı’nabakıldığında mertlik ve yiğitlik ile ilgili söylemleri şiir tarzıgereği veciz bir şekilde dillendirildiği görülür. Kaynaklara göremertçe edanın hâkim olduğu bu şiirlerin Emevîler dönemi siyasîanlayışından temellerini aldığı görülmektedir. O devirdeşairlerin halifeleri överken kullandıkları övgü kalıpları, dahasonra Fars ve Türk şiirinde de devam ettirilmiştir. RâgıbPaşa’da bu söylemelerin, memduhun yiğitliği ve kendisininşairlik tabiatına yönelen yönleri olmak üzere mertçe bir edaylatasvir edildikleri görülmektedir. Bu makalede bu yönler örnekşiirlerden hareketle incelenmiştir. Bu incelemelere ayrıca RâgıbPaşa’nın hikemî üslubundan yansıyan yönler de eklenmiştir.
