Migration as a life process and integration problem in Germany

Abstract

Turkish society has a prominent place in Germany in terms of migration, political,sociological examination of both concepts of immigration and integration since this community has anumerical superiority among others. American rooted classical integration theory which emphazisethe concept of the race turned into concept such as ethnic and cultural differences in the theoriesdeveloped in Germany. The emphasises such as guest worker and foreigner turned into termssuch as citizen of immigrant origin . The topics of immigration and integration are generallydiscussed within the context of Esser´s theories of the assimilation and disintegration. The politicsthat cannot develop comprehensive solutions concerning the integration negatively contributes tothose theories that have hypothesis particular to themselves and the technically false researchmethods. As a result of integration theories and the lack of proper politics, the Turkish community inGermany is presented as a sample of disintegration. Thus, the uncertainty and deadlock in the topicsof migration, immigration and integration stil continue. This study aims to evidence the reasons of theemerging theories of integration, politics and the dominant society`s views on Turkish community inGermany and the related ongoing deadlock.

Özet

Almanyada göç, göçmenlik ve uyum kavramlarının politik ve sosyolojik olarakincelenmesinde Türklerin önemli bir yeri vardır. Amerika kökenli klasik uyum teorilerinin vurguladığıırk kavramı, Almanyada geliştirilen teorilerde etnik ve kültürel farklılık gibi kavramlaradönüşmüştür. Misafir işçi ve yabancı gibi vurgular da yerini göçmen kökenli vatandaş tanımınabırakmıştır. Almanyada göç ve uyum konuları genellikle Esserin asimilasyon ve Heitmeyerindesentegrasyon teorileri çerçevesinde tartışılmaktadır. Kendilerine özgü hipotezleri olan bu teorilerinsınırlılığına ve araştırma metotlarının teknik anlamda yanlışlığına, uyum konusunda kapsayıcı birtoplumsal politika geliştiremeyen siyasetin yetersizliği de katkıda bulunmaktadır. Uyum teorileri vesiyasetin bu eksiklikleri sonucunda Türkler Almanya da uyumsuzluk örneği olarak gösterilmektedir.Böylece göç, göçmenlik ve uyum gibi konularda belirsizlik ve çözümsüzlük devam etmektedir. Buçalışma, ortaya çıkan uyum teorilerinin, siyasetin ve baskın toplumun Almanya Türk Toplumunabakışını ve devam eden çözümsüzlüğün nedenlerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamıştır.
