Abstract
In export competition, the competition continuity of countries in the long term depends on firstly their obtaining cost advantage without decreasing the quality of goods and secondly the width of market condition. When the competition is made in agricultural sector, government interference will be faced. The reason for this is that governments' interference exists in agricultural sector throughout the world. The interference, is effective upon the demand and cost of yield. Among agricultural crops, the cotton, however is one of the most interference getting crop because it is industrial textile. Therefore, cotton production and trade are made under the interference in the world. Nowadays, countries, in export, have faced to two options that are export cotton lint and cotton used in the textile. The countries, which would prefer export cotton lint, in time, have increased the quality from the result of research studies in this field besides government support. Countries like the USA, which have the quality and cost stability in the long term, also have competitive advantage in export. This research shows that production costs of cotton in Türkiye and Pakistan have increased. And this cost has been affecting the export price. Therefore, the competitive advantages of these countries have been narrowed. The tendency of producing value-added cotton in textile industry has caused the consumption of domestic cotton in these countries. Nevertheless the lack of increase in the textile sector in the USA and Australia haven't increased the consumption. These countries with the cost advantage and the quality of cotton have continued their export competition. Australia has even increased her competitive advantage a lot more than her former position.
