Intrathoracic alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (A case report)

Abstract

In this study, we report a case of alveolar rhbdomyosarcoma in a 3-year-old boy with an extremely rare, intrathoracic extrapleural localization. The tumor showed alveolar pattern histologically, and striated muscle origin has been proven histochemically by Masson's trichrome and phosphotungstic acid hematoxylene staining, and immunohistochemically by desmin and muscle-specific actin staining. Postoperatively, because of incomplete resection due to its localization, tumor showed recurrence two months later, and the patient died one month after the recurrence. Özet

Bu çalışmada, üç yaşındaki bir erkek çocukta, en az görüldüğü yerlerden olan İntratorasik ekstraplöral yerleşimli bir alveoler rabdomiyosarkom olgusu sunuyoruz. Tümör histolojik olarak alveoler alttip olup, çizgili kas kökeni histokimyasal olarak Masson trikrom ve fosfotungstik asit hematoksilen ile, immünohistokimyasal olarak ise desmin ve kasa özgün aktın ile olumlu boyamayla gösterildi. Lokalizasyonu nedeniyle tümörün tam çıkarılamamasından dolayı iki ay sonra rekürrens görüldü ve hasta bir ay sonra eksitus oldu. Olgunun klinik ve histopatolojik özellikleri ilgili literatür ışığında tartışıldı.
