Abstract

In terms of ethnic and religious problems the Balkans is one of the most dynamic geographies in international politics. In the discussion which occurs with the independence of the Albanians of Kosovo who are one nations of the Balkan region, this article firstly argues that several issues have to be taken into consideration together to make a consistent evaluation. Because the Kosovo Problem has come out at local, regional and international lines. In addition, in the reaction of Turkey concerning to Kosovo‟s independence it is asserted that the importance of Kosovo in the Balkan politics of Turkey takes more place than the opinion that Kosovo can create a precedent for the southeastern region of Turkey.

Uluslararası siyasette etnik ve dini sorunlar açısından en devingen coğrafyalardan biri Balkanlar‟dır. Makale ilk olarak, bölge halklarından Kosovalı Arnavutların bağımsızlık deklare etmeleri ile ortaya çıkan tartışmada tutarlı bir yargıya varabilmek için birçok konunun birlikte değerlendirilmesi gerektiğini savlamaktadır. Çünkü Kosova sorunu, yerel, bölgesel ve küresel hatlarda vuku bulmuştur. Ayrıca, Türkiye‟nin Kosova‟nın bağımsızlığına yönelik verdiği tepkide, Balkanlar politikasında Kosova‟nın ehemmiyeti, bu kararın kendi Güneydoğu‟suna emsal oluşturabileceği düşüncesine ağır bastığı ileri sürülmektedir.
