A CURRENT RESEARCH ON CONSERVATION AWARENESS IN INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE EDUCATION IN TURKEY AND TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS

TÜRKİYE VE KKTC'DE İÇ MİMARLIK EĞİTİMİNDE KORUMA BİLİNCİ ÜZERİNE GÜNCEL BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Abstract

In our country, which has a very rich potential with the cultural assets we have, there is always a need to think and develop new ideas on the problem of conserving the architectural heritage. It is not possible to restore values which lost because of incorrect practice. Education, which has an important role in transferring the architectural heritage to the future by eliminating these errors, needs to be carefully investigated and developed within the scope of related fields. The relationship between Conservation, which is of interest to many disciplines, and Interior Architecture, is evaluated on the spatial dimension of cultural heritage in architectural scale. In terms of professional qualifications, education takes on important responsibilities. In line with interdisciplinary relationships, the subject of this study, which aims to contribute to the development of the discipline of Conservation as well as Interior Architecture, is to examine education. After the introduction, which clarifies the subject, the relationship between Interior Architecture and Conservation disciplines is explained, after that the courses in the program at universities in Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are analyzed, the competence of Interior Architecture education within the scope of Conservation was investigated. As a result, the study including criticism and suggestions showed that; It is necessary to develop the awareness of conservation which should be established at undergraduate level in graduate education to protection of architectural heritage by qualified experts.

Sahip olduğumuz kültürel varlıklarla oldukça zengin bir potansiyele sahip ülkemizde kültürel mirası korumasorunsalı üzerinde her zaman düşünmeye ve yeni fikirler geliştirmeye ihtiyaç vardır. Yanlış uygulamalarla kaybolandeğerleri geri getirmek olası değildir. Bu yanlışların ortadan kaldırılarak kültürel mirasın geleceğe doğru aktarılmasıkonusunda önemli bir role sahip olan eğitimin, ilgili alanlar kapsamında dikkatle sorgulanması ve geliştirilmesigerekir. Pek çok disiplinin ilgi alanına giren Koruma olgusu ile İç Mimarlık arasındaki ilişki, kültürel mirasın mimariölçekteki mekansal boyutu üzerinden değerlendirilir. Mesleki yeterlilikler açısından eğitim önemli sorumluluklarüstlenir. Disiplinler arası ilişkiler doğrultusunda, İç Mimarlığın yanı sıra Koruma disiplininin de gelişimine katkısağlamayı hedefleyen bu çalışmanın konusu eğitimi irdelemeye yöneliktir. Çalışmada konuya açıklık getiren girişbölümünün ardından, İç Mimarlık ve Koruma disiplinleri arasındaki ilişki açıklanmış, daha sonra Türkiye veKKTC’de bulunan üniversitelerdeki programlarda yer alan dersler incelenerek, İç Mimarlık eğitiminin Korumakapsamındaki yeterliliği araştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, eleştiri ve önerilerin yer aldığı çalışma göstermiştir ki; İçMimarlık eğitiminde lisans düzeyinde oluşturulması gereken koruma bilincinin, lisansüstü düzeyde geliştirilmesi,mimari mirasın donanımlı uzmanlar tarafından korunması açısından gereklidir.
