Abstract

This study aimed to determine competency levels of preschool teachers in Burdur province on implementing daily plans. Total of 27 teachers were included into the sample of this study. The teachers were observed by 3 different teams comprised of 2 observers each, through using an observation form. For data analysis, firstly a mean score for each teacher was calculated by using the scores obtained from 6 observers. Additionally, each score obtained by teachers for each activity was converted to item interval scores. Then, for item interval scores, frequencies and percentages were calculated according to the sub-questions, and one-way ANOVA and Kruskall - Wallis tests were used to analyze data. Findings of this study could be summarized as follows: Preschool teachers were rated as average for their overall competency on implementing the daily plan whereas they were more competent on planning and implementing game activities than other activities, and they were the most competent on planning spare time activities. Analysis of data revealed that teachers were the least competent on science and nature activities.
