Mustafa Sâtı Bey's Views on the Special Teaching Methods of Some Courses

Mustafa Sâtı Bey'in Bazı Derslerin Özel Öğretim Yöntemlerine İlişkin Görüşleri

Abstract

In this study, we consider some views of Mustafa Sâtı Bey about the special teaching methods expounded in his works (books and articles), which were published in various journals. Within the course of educational movements during the Meşrutiyet (Constitution) period, Mustafa Sâtı Bey played an important role both in the introduction of westem pedogogy into the Ottoman education system and in the formation of further, reformist educational views. He also guided the teachers both by informing them about the special teaching methods of some subjects and by explaining those methods. We have observed that same of his ideas on how to teach soıne coıırses and what the teachers should take into consideration in those courses are stili valid today.

Özet

Bu çalışmada Mustafa Sâtı Bey 'in çeşitli eser ve mecmualarda kaleme almış olduğu yazılarında dile getirmiş olduğu bazı derslerin özel öğretim yöntemlerine ilişkin görüşlerine yer verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Mustafa Sâtı Bey, Meşrutiyet dönemi eğitim hareketleri içersinde hem Batı pedagojisinin ülkeye girişinde hem de daha sonraki reformist karakterdeki eğitim görüşlerinin oluşmasında hissedilir ölçüde bir rol oynamış, bazı derslerin özel öğretim yöntemleri hakkında bilgiler vermek ve açıklamalar yapmak suretiyle de öğretmen ve öğretmen adaylarına rehberlik yapma görevini yerine getirmiştir. Onun bazı derslerin nasıl öğretilmesi ve bu derslerin öğretiminde öğretmenlerin nelere dikkat etmeleri gerektiğine, dair olan fikirlerinin bir kısmının günümüz eğitim sisteminde de hâlâ geçerli olduğu gözlemlenmiştir.
