The Teaching Some of the Chemistry Concepts by the Help of Proverbs

Abstract

Chemistry lectures is always perceived conceptually consisting of a bunch of formulas describing relations due to the fact that knowledge of chemistry has not been significantly related to daily life. Different methods and techniques have been used in chemistry teaching recently. One of these techniques is teaching with analogies. That brings the knowledge to the concrete knowledge. So it helps the students learn the topics and the relationships between the topics. The best way to understand a concept is to study that subject very well and establish relationship with other subjects. The main purpose of this study is to give some help to teaching of the chemistry concepts through proverbs.

Özet

Kimya dersi, günümüzde günlük yaşamla ilişkilendirilerek anlatılmadığı veya anlatılamadığı için, soyut bir kavram olarak algılanmaktadır. Son yıllarda kimya öğretiminde farklı yöntem ve teknikler kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Bunlardan birisi de analojileri kullanarak ders işlemedir. Analoji ile öğretim, soyut bilgileri somutlaştırılarak öğrencinin kavramları öğrenmesine ve kavramlar ara-sında anlamlı bağlar kurmasına yardımcı olmaktadır. Bir kavramı anlamanın en iyi yolu ise, o konu üzerinde mümkün olduğunca derinlemesine çalışmak ve diğer konu alanlarıyla bağlantılar kurmaktır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı kimya kavramlarının atasözleri ile ilişkisini göstermek ve kimya öğretimine katkıda bulunmaktır.
