The Study of Adaptation Test of Early Mathematics Ability-3 (TEMA-3) for 60-72, Mounth Old Children

Erken Matematik Yeteneği Testi-3 (TEMA-3)'ün 60-72 Aylar Arasında Olan Çocuklar İçin Uyarlama Çalışması

Abstract

This study was planned in order to evaluate the validity and reliability works of Test of Early Mathematics Ability – 3 for 60 – 72 month-old children. The research was carried out totally 200 children of 60 – 72 month-old going to kindergartens, which are dependent to the Ministry of Education, in 2004 – 2005 education year. At the end of the research Mann Whitney U-Test applied to validate content of the test showed that there is a meaningful difference between the points that were taken by the children from Form A and Form B and that were given as the best and the worst mathematics ability points according to teachers’ perception. Test retest Pearson Moments Multiplication Correlation Coefficient for form A was found as r = .90 and for form B was foundas r = .86. Between two measure it was seen that points of the test did not change any. In addition, in order to determine the validity of the test, interior consistency coefficient was estimated and KR-20 value was found for form A to be .92 and for form B to be .93. At the end of this study was determined that the test measures mathematics ability of 60 – 72 month-old Turkish children.

Bu çalışma Erken Matematik Yeteneği Testi-3’ ün (Test of Early Mathematics Ability – 3, TE-MA-3) 60 – 72 aylar arasındaki Türk çocuklarına uyarlama çalışmasını yapmak amacıyla planlanmıştır. Araştırma 2004 - 2005 öğretim yılında Ankara’ da Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı bağımsız anaokullarına devam eden 60-72 aylar arasında olan toplam 200 çocuk üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma sonucunda testin ölçüt geçerliği için yapılan Mann Whitney U-Testi sonuçları öğretmen algılamalarına göre belirlenen matematik yeteneği en iyi ve en zayıf olan çocukların Form A ve Form B’ den aldıkları puanlar arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca test tekrar test Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyon Katsayısı Form A için r=.90, Form B için r=.86 olarak bulunmuştur. Testin güvenirliğini belirlemek amacıyla iç tutarlılık katsayısı hesaplanmış ve KR-20 değeri Form A için .92, Form B için .93 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuçta, 60-72 aylar arasında olan Türk çocuklarının matematik yeteneğini ölçmede testin geçerlik ve güvenilirlik düzeyinin yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir.
