Abstract
Carcinoid Tumor of the Stomach (A Case Report) Carcinoid tumors are of the rare malign tumors of the stomach. It's frequency in the stomach is 0.3-1 %. Of all the carcinoid tumors about 4 % are seen in the stomach. Generally, they are polypoid and associated with achlo-rhydria and pernicious anemia. In 17-39 % cases, at time of diagnosis, there is lymph node metastasis. Despite so, there is long survey after gastric resection. On the base of chronic atrophic gastritis, it can be seen with MENI1-Zolinger Ellison syndrome or sporadically. Although there are also argryrophilically painted cells, chromogranin painted cells are more specific. It can be seen enterochro-maffin or endocrin cell hyperplasia. In cases with chronic atrophic gastritis there is also hypergastrinemia and gas¬tric acid hyposecretion. In our clinic we have operated a patient with gastric polyp. At the time of operation, it was made frozen section. It has treated as malign carcinoid tu¬mor of the stomach. Hoffmann-Hilarowicz procedure, total gastrectomy and oesophagojeunostomy, was applied. Since 5 years after operation, the patient is still healthy in his life.
