Abstract

Malignant Melanoma in Stomach (Case Report) Malignant melanomas are originated from the melanocy-tes of dermal-epidermal junction. Apart of skin, which is their most common site of appearence, they can be found at vagina, oral mucosa, uvea, rectum, meninx and na¬sopharynx. Gastrointestinal tractus is involved in some advenced cases. In a patient who underwent a laparotomy for gastric tumor, we observed a malignant melanoma causing antral obstruction instead of adenocarcinoma. The origin ot the tumor (primary or metastatic) remained unknown. We present this quite rare case in order to dis¬cuss the relationship between gastrointestinal tractus and malignant melanomas. .
