An Alternative Surgical Treatment in Left Colon Perforation: Primary Repair Three cases of sigmoid colon perforation or injury have been treated with primary repair. In spite of general concept, when disadvantages of colostömy on patients' psychology and social life, risks of a second operation, the cost to the health system and loss of manpower resources are taken into consideration, it has been shown that one step primary repair can be performed in elective cases of left colon injuries.
