Abstract

Cystic neoplasms of pancreas are evaluated into two groups either microcystic (serous) or macrocystic (mucinous). In contrast to mutinous cystadenomas, microcystic adenomas have benign structure but growing gradually, they may cause compression to adjacent tissues. A 20 years-old male patient referred to our clinic with complaints of left upper quadrant pain and weight loss of 8 kg during the last 8 months. In his examinations, a multivesicular cystic mass of pancreatic origin occupying whole epigastrium was noticed. Examining the resected material revealed microcystic adenoma of pancreas. This case is presented and discussed herein for its occurrence in a different age and sex from previous reports and differences in its therapeutic modalities with the nonneoplastic cystic diseases of pancreas.
