Abstract
Hypercoagulability due to the deficiency of inherited coagulation inhibitors is not a common entity during adolescant age. A young patient with a non-spesific abdominal pain was examined. At laparatomy, superior mesenteric vein thrombosis was found. Near total small bowel resection and jejuno-ileostomi was performed, and 50cm small bowel was left. After the operation, nutritional support was needed for one year because of the short bowel syndrome. Screening tests for hypercoagulability showed a protein S deficiency as well as activated protein C resistance (APC-R). Now, he is healthy with oral diet and daily activity.
