Abstract
Abdominal colonic lipomas are rarely seen (0.02 %-4.4 %). They are often asymptomatic. Large lipomas have several symptoms like abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, diarrhea, constipation and intussusceptions. Generally colonic lipoma has no symptoms if it is less than 2 cm in size. It has been often seen in women at 6th decade. Com-mon location, sites are right colon and ileocecal valve. It also locates in transverse and sigmoid colon musch less in frequency than former. 26 % of colonic lipomas are multiple. We report a male who presented palpable mass located his left lower abdominal quadrant, acute abdominal cramping pain, partial colonic obstruction and rectal bleeding mimicking carcinoma in large bowel. He had taken computerized tomography, and abdominal ultra-sound (US) and colonoscopie exam to differentiate from malignant lesion. Moreover a "punch" biopsy of mass performed while colonoscopy done. The case was consid-ered as an original one because of the symptoms mimick-ing colon cancer and because of the patients who was male and tumor location on the sigmoid colon.
