Abstract

Classical methods of hernia repair involve suturing together tissues which are not normally in apposition and give rise to an unacceptable number of failures. The tensionfree hernioplasty as introduced, by Lichtenstein has gained increasing acceptance during the last decade. This clinical study compares the shortterm outcomes and 2 year follow-up results after 228 tension-free hernioplasties with implantation of polypropylene mesh (group I) with i OS classical methods of hernia repair (group 2) in all groin hernias. Klasik herni onanın yöntemleri normalde birbiri ile karşılıklı konumda olmayan dokuları birlikte sütüre etmeyi gerektirir ve kabul edilemeyecek başarısızlık oranlan ile beraberdir. Lichtenstein tarafından ortaya atılan tension-free hernioplasti son yıllarda büyük kabul görmüştür. Bu klinik çalışma 228 tension-free hernioplasti olgusu (grup l) ile 105 klasik herni onanın olgusunu (grup 2) postoperatif kısa dönem sonuçlan ve 2 yıllık izlem sonuçların karşılaştırmaktadır. Tension-free onarım sonrası 3 hastada nüks gelişti (% l.3), klasik onarım yöntemleri sonrası 5 hastada nüks gelişti (% 4.8)', (p=0.05). Grup l'deki hastalar daha ileri yaşa (p
