Özet

E. M. Hamdi Yazır son dönem mütefekkirlerimizin başında gelmek- tedir. O ruhun mahiyetinin tam olarak bilinemeyeceğini ancakonun hareket, hayat ve idrak olmak üzere üç önemli yetisi bulun- duğunu belirtmektedir. Hamdi Yazıra göre, idrak sadece insan ru- huna ait bir niteliktir. Ruhun kendi başına kaim ebedi bir cevherdeğil, Tanrının bâki kılmasıyla bâki kalabileceğini iddia etmekte- dir. O ölümden sonra hayatın mümkün olduğunu, insanlardakiadalet beklentisinin ve ilk yaratılışın bunun en önemli delili oldu- ğunu ileri sürmektedir.

Abstract

E. M. Yazır is the leading thinker of the recent epoch. He arguesthat the nature of the soul cannot be known completely, but it hasthree faculties which are movement, life and understanding. Ac- cording to Hamdi Yazır, the understanding is the sole quality ofhuman spirit. He claims that the soul itself is not an eternal subs- tance per se, however it can be eternal thanks to the God. He ar- gues that anticipation of justice in people and initial creation arethe most important evidences of the possibility of life after death.
