Abstract
Petroleum products are taxed heavily in Turkey and taxes raised from petroleum products have a very important share in budget revenues. It is such that corporate income taxes which are classified under direct taxes comes after taxes raised from petroleum products which are classified under indirect taxes. When gasoline, diesel and auto lpg prices are compared with prices in OECD countries, it can be seen that there are some countries which have bigger tax share in prices than Turkey. However, when this analysis has been done in terms of purchasing power parity it can be seen that Turkey has the highest gasoline, diesel and auto lpg prices among all OECD countries.
