İsmet İnönü and the Committee for Union and Progress

Abstract

The membership of “the Unidn and Progress” which had constructed the main direction of Ottoman Empire towards its end is only a small fraction in İsmet İnönü’s life who led the Turkish Republic in accordence with his political and administrational views after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. However, this study claims that it is important to make a connection between İnönü and “the Unidn and Progress” as the authorities of the republic had seen “the Unidn and Progress” as a laboratory and Inönü also continued to apply the Ittihat Terakki’s way of governance in all aspects of his political life.

Özet

Cumhuriyet Türkiye’sine Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ten sonra düşünceleri, siyaset ve yönetim anlayışı ile yön veren İsmet İnönü’nün yaşamında Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun son döneminin ana eksenini oluşturan İttihat ve Terakki üyeliği küçük bir ayrıntı gibi durmaktadır. Ancak bu çalışma, İttihat ve Terakki’nin Cumhuriyet yönetici kadrolarının siyasal laboratuarı olması ve İnönü’nün siyasal yaşamının her alanında İttihat ve Terakki yönetim geleneğini sürdürmüş olması nedeniyle İnönü ve İttihat ve Terakki’yi birlikte düşünmenin yararlı olacağından hareketle hazırlanmıştır.
