Bacteriologic analysis of drinking waters in the province and town centers of Sivas

Abstract
Among the network of drinking water and spring waters used widely by the people in the town centers and the province of Sivas 1563 water samples were examined bacteriologically. With the multy-tube method, total coliform bacteria were found in 27.6% of samples and fecal coliform bacteria determined in 12.6% of samples. In the study, E.coli was the mostly isolated bacterium (59.0%). Network waters and spring waters were found to be more polluted in town centers than those of the provincial centers.

Sivas İl ve İlçe merkezlerinde, içme sularının mikrobiyal kalitesini saptamak amacıyla halkın yaygın olarak kullandığı kaynak ve şebeke sulanndan alınan toplam 1563 su örneği bakteriyolojik yönden çoklu tüp yöntemi (multi-tube method) ile incelendi. İncelenen örneklerin %27.6'sında total, %12.6'sında da fekal koliform bakteri tesbit edildi. İzole edilen koliform bakterilerin büyük çoğunluğunu (%59) E.coli oluşturdu. İlçe merkezlerindeki şebeke ve kaynak sularının, il merkezinden daha kirli olduğu görüldü.
