HLA antigens and blood groups of patients with Behçet's disease from Eastern Marmara region

Abstract

In this study , HLA A,B, DR antigens, ABO and Rh blood groups of 50 patients with Behçet Disease, diagnosed according to the International Study Group of Behçet's Disease , were reviewed. For HLA antigens, 100 healthy, genetically unrelated, for blood groups, 1000 healthy individuals were selected as control group. No difference was found between patient and control groups in HLA -A, B and DR antigens. HLA B51 and HLA - Bw 52 antigens were statistically high in patient group(p0.05). As expected, we conclude that there's a coexistence of HLA-B 51 and HLA Bw 52 but interestingly no existence of HLA-B 12 , HLA-Bw 22 and HLA-B 40 antigens in patients with Behçet's Disease from Eastern Marmara Region.

Özet

Bu çalışmada Uluslararası Behçet Hastalığı Çalışma Grubunun kriterlerine göre tanı konulmuş 50 Behçet hastasında HLA A,B , DR antijenleri, ABO ve Rh kan grupları araştırıldı. Sağlıklı kişilerden oluşan ve aralarında akrabalık ilişkisi bulunmayan 100 kişi HLA doku antijenleri için ; 1000 kişi kan grupları için kontrol grubu olarak alındı. HLA-A,B ve DR antijenleri ile hasta ve kontrol grubu arasında fark bulunmadı. HLA - B 51 ve HLA- Bw 52 hasta grubunda kontrol grubuna göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu(p0.05). Sonuç olarak; beklenildiği gibi, Doğu Marmara Bölgesi Behçet hastalarında da HLA- B51, HLA-Bw52 antijen birlikteliğinin söz konusu olduğu, buna karşılık ilginç olarak HLA-B12, HLA-Bw22 ve HLA-B40 antijenlerinin hiç bulunmadığı kanısına varıldı.
