Atypical lipoleiomyoma of the uterus

Abstract

Lipoleiomyoma of the uterus is very rare. There are also very few cases of lipoleiomyoma showing atypia in the literature. In this study an atypical lipoleiomyoma of the uterus with a clinical diagnosis of myoma uteri is presented. Pathological examination of the surgical specimen revealed a tumor composed of fibromuscular tissue mixed with mature fat cells, partly forming lobules. Fibromuscular tissue was consisted of cells with atypical nuclei and giant cell formations. We found less than 2 mitotic figures in W high power fields. There were numerous mast cells, diffusely infiltrating the tumor.

Özet

Uterusun lipoleiomiyomaları, özellikle atipik olanları son derece nadir görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada miyoma uteri ön tanısı ile öpere edilen atipik lipoteiomiyomalı bir olgu sunulmuştur. Operasyon materyalinin patolojik incelenme ainde fıbromüsküter doku ile karışık, yer yer lobüller oluşturmuş matüryağ hücreleri saptanmış; fıbromüsküter dokuda atipik nükleuslu hücreler ile dev hücre formasyonları gözlenmiştir. Mitoz sayısı 10 büyük büyütme sahasında 2'den az olup tumoral dokuda ayrıca difüz dağılım gösteren çok sayıda mast hücresi tespit edilmiştir.
