Abstract
Beta-lactamase synthesis is the main mechanism responsible for the resistance occured against beta-lactam antibiotics in gram negative bacilli. In this study, the beta-lactam antibiotic resistance and extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) production was investigated in 60 hospital acquired Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates with the aim of determining the resistance and resistance mechanism to beta-lactam antibiotics. ESBL production was detected in 63-3% of the isolates. As a result, we suggest that the characterization of the beta-lactamase patterns of gram negative bacteria would be useful for the convinient choice of beta-lactam antibiotics for the treatment.
Özet
Gram negatif basillerde beta-laktam antibiyotiklere karsı ortaya çıkan dirençle ilişkili olarak; en fazla sorumlu tutulan mekanizma beta-laktamaz sentezidir. Bu çalışmada, beta-laktam antibiyotiklere direnç ve direnç mekanizmasını belirlemek amacıyla hastane kökenli 60 Klebsiella pneumoniae susunda cifi disk sinerji testi (ÇDST) ile genişlemiş spek¬trumlu beta-laktamaz (GSBL) yapımı araştırıldı. Izolatlartn %63.3'ünün GSBL ürettiği belirlendi. Gram negatif bakteri enfeksiyonlarının tedavisi için kullanılacak antibiyotiklerin seçiminde, beta-laktamaz tip tayininin yol gösterici olacağı sonucuna varıldı.
