An Assessment On The Concept Of ‘Tezekki’ In The Quran

Abstract

One of the words that describe the physical and spiritual development of man in the Qur’an is the concept of “moral purification”. The Qur’an, is a guide to all mankind, informs believers and worshippers of faith to be saved. The nature of the concept of “moral purification” and the actions it contains are more often seen in the Mekkî surats in the first years of the prophecy. The goal of the Qur’an, which aims to create an Islamic identity in human beings, needs to be well understood. In this paper, the expression “moral purification” in the context of verses is explained at first. Then, how this concept was translated into Turkish and how this translation is perceived in the reader’s mind will be stated. Like every word of the Qur’an, consideration and evaluation of the concept of ‘moral purification’ according to the context of the Qur’an is the right way for a healthy understanding of the Qur’an.

Özet

“Tezekkî”, Kur’an’da insanın maddi ve manevi gelişimini anlatan kavramlardanbiridir. Tüm insanlığa hidayet rehberi olarak inen Kur’an, iman eden ve imanıngereği olarak amel eden müminlerin kurtuluşa ereceklerini haber vermektedir. Kur’an, kurtuluşa ermeyi “tezekkî” etmeye bağlamıştır. “tezekkî” kavramının mahiyeti ve içerdiği fiiller, daha çok nübüvvetin ilk yıllarında inen Mekkîsûrelerde görülmektedir. İnsanda İslâmî bir kimlik oluşturmayı amaçlayanKur’an’ın bu konudaki hedeflerinin iyi anlaşılması gerekmektedir. Makalemizde öncelikle “tezekkî” kelimesini ayetler bağlamında ele alacağız. Daha sonrabu kelimenin Türkçeye nasıl çevrildiği ve bu çevirinin, muhatabın zihnindenasıl bir algı oluşturduğu hususu üzerinde duracağız. Mübîn olan Kur’an’ın herkelimesi gibi “tezekkî” kavramının da Kur’an bağlamında ele alınıp değerlendirilmesi Kur’an’ın sağlıklı anlaşılması için gereklidir.
