Atatürk's views on education and Misak-ı Maarif

Abstract
There is no doubt that”National Education Reform “is the cornerstone of the series of reforms that are part of Atatürk's Revolution. Education is a science, an art that requires special talents and requires expertise to its depth in all parts of the world and in all periods of history. According to figures and historical data, a leader who aims to take a society with a zero level of general education and save it from ignorance and raise it to the level and even above that of Western civilization should first have a specialization in the field of “educationalism”.

Atatürk İnkılâbı”nın birer parçaları olan seri halindeki reformlar arasında hiç kuşku yok ki temel taşı “Millî Eğitim Reformu” oluşturur. Eğitim, dünyanın her tarafında ve tarihin her döneminde derinliğine ihtisas isteyen, özel yetenekleri gerektiren bir bilimdir, sanattır. Rakamlar ve tarihî müsbet bilgilere göre genel eğitimi sıfır düzeyde olan bir toplumu alıp cehaletten kurtarmayı ve Batı uygarlığının düzeyine ve hatta onun üzerine çıkarmayı amaçlayan bir liderin her şeyden evvel “eğitimcilik” alanında ihtisas sahibi olması gerekir.
