The investigation of the presence of viral nervous necrosis disease in sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax L.) and sea bream (Sparus aurata L.) farms in the Aegean Region

Abstract
In this project, the presence of viral nervous necrosis (VNN) disease was investigated in sea bass and sea bream farms in the Aegean Region. For this purpose, larvae and/or juvenil fish which was obtained from sea bass and sea bream farms were used. For diagnosis of disease, virus isolation was performed on cell culture followed by identification using immuno fluorescence antibody test (IFAT) and reverse transcriptase/polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). At the end of study, the presence of VNN disease was not determined in sea bass and sea bream farms in the Aegean Region.
Özet
Bu projede Ege bölgesinde yer alan levrek ve çipura işletmelerinde viral nervöz nekrozis (VNN) hastalığının varlığı araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla levrek ve çipura işletmelerinden temin edilen larva ve/veya yavru balıklar kullanılmıştır. Hastalığın teşhisi amacıyla hücre kültüründe virus izolasyonunu takiben identifikasyon için immun floresan antikor testi (IFAT) ve reverse transcriptase/polimeraz zincir reaksiyonu (RT-PCR) teknikleri uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda, Ege Bölgesinde yer alan levrek ve çipura işletmelerinde VNN hastalığının varlığı tespit edilmemiştir.
