Numerical Analysis of Velocity and Temperature Distributions in Winter Air Conditioning of Cabin Type Offices

Abstract

It is important for people to be comfortable by providing necessary comfort conditions in working office environments in terms of health and work performance of people. In practice, it is necessary to design air conditioning systems properly in order to realize these conditions in the most efficient way. For this reason, in this study, the most efficient location of the grilles for the desired air velocities and temperature distributions for winter months was investigated by simulating with ANSYS-FLUENT program and the results were observed. For this purpose, four different models have been created for the blowing and suction vent layouts for the cabinet type office. For each model, the velocities of the conditioned air entering the office were taken as 0.5 m/s, 1 m/s and 2 m/s, and analyzes were made according to the determined average outside air temperatures. Temperature and velocity contours were determined for each model in the analysis. As a result of the study, it was seen that the most suitable air conditioning for cabin-type offices was the design with ceiling blowing and suction vents on the side walls.

Özet

Çalışma ofisi ortamlarında, gerekli konfor koşulları sağlanarak insanların rahat olabilmesi insanların sağlık ve iş performansı bakımdan önem arz etmektedir. Uygulamada bu şartların en verimli bir şekilde gerçekleştirilmesi açından iklimlendirme sistemlerinin uygun tasarlanması zorunlu olmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada, kış ayları için istenilen hava hızları ve sıcaklık dağılımları için menfezlerin en verimli konumu ANSYS-FLUENT programı ile simüle edilerek araştırılmış ve sonuçlar gözlemlenmiştir. Bu amaçla kabin tipi ofis için üfleme ve egzoz menfezi yerleşimleri için dört farklı model oluşturulmuştur. Her model için iklimlendirilmiş havanın ofise giriş hızları 0.5 m/s, 1 m/s, ve 2 m/s alınarak belirlenen dış hava ortalama sıcaklıklarına göre analizler yapılmıştır. Analizde her model için sıcaklık ve hız dağılımları belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda kabin tipi ofisler için en uygun iklimlendirmenin tavandan üfleme ve yan duvarlarda egzoz menfezlerinin olduğu tasarım olduğu görülmüştür.
