Analysis and evaluation of the Arabic language textbook for seventh grade students In Islamic Schools (Imam Hatip) in the light of proposed criteria

İmam Hatip Ortaokullarının Yedinci Sınıfında Okutulan Arapça Ders Kitabının Önerilen Kriterler Işığında Analizi ve Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze and assess the Arabic language textbook for seventh grade students in Turkish Islamic schools (Imam Hatip) in the light of suggested criteria; In order to confirm and develop the identified strengths, as well as evaluate and avoid the weaknesses that may also be found, in the subsequent editions of the book. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher designed a content analysis tool that consisted of two hundred criteria, and these criteria were classified into ten main areas. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method to obtain accurate quantitative and qualitative results, and the results of the analysis showed the availability of a large number of the designed criteria in light of which the analysis was conducted, as well as some weaknesses in the book. In light of these results, the research presented a set of recommendations that will contribute to the evaluation and treatment of the shortcomings revealed by the analysis.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın hedefi, Türkiye’de imam hatip ortaokullarının yedinci sınıfında Arapça ders kitabı olarak okutulan kitabın teklif edilen kriterler ışığında incelenmesi ve değerlendirilmesidir. Söz konusu inceleme ve değerlendirme sonucunda güçlü yönlerin tespit edilip pekiştirilmesi ve geliştirilmesi yanında yetersiz kalan yönlerin belirlenip kitabın sonraki baskılarında düzeltilip telafi edilmesi yönünde katkı sağlayacaktır. Çalışma hedefini gerçekleştirilmesi amacıyla araştırmacı, 200 kriterden oluşan bir analiz aracı tasarlamıştır. Sözü edilen kriterler on ana alanda kategorize edilmiştir. Araştırmacı hassas nicel ve nitel sonuçlar elde etmek üzere çalışmasında analitik nitel yöntem uygulamıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre değerlendirmesi yapılan kriterlerin incelenen kitapta büyük oranda mevcut oldukları ve ayrıca bazı yetersiz yönlerin de bulunduğu görülmüştür. Elde edilen sonuçlar ışığında, analizin ortaya koyduğu geliştirilmesi uygun görülen yönlere ilişkin bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
