Cutaneous Mucinosis and Mastocytosis in a Shar- pei Breed Dog

Abstract
: The cutaneous mucinosis is a group of disorders having abnormal accumulation of jelly- like mucin in the skin. A 5year old, shar- pei breed dog referred to Veterinary Teaching Hospital with the complaints of recurrent dermatologicconditions (including asymptomatic numerous bullae and erythema on the skin). Peripheral blood smear and aspirationsmear of bullous material stained with Diff- Quick revealed severe mastocytosis. Idiopathic mucinosis was confirmed withbiopsies taken from the affected skin. Methylprednisolone acetate and cephalexin were initiated. Any deteriorationoccurred during 2 year follow- up
Özet
Kutanöz Musinozis jelatin benzeri müsinin patolojik olarak deride biriktiği bir grup hastalığı ifade etmektedir. 5 yaşlıShar- pei ırkı bir köpek Veteriner Fakültesi Hayvan Hastanesine tekrarlayan dermatolojik problemler (deride asemptomatikbullöz lezyonlar ve eritemli alanlar) ile getirilmiştir. Diff- Quickle boyanan büllöz materyal aspiratı ve periferal kanfrotilerinde şiddetli Mastositozis tespit edilmiştir. Etkilenmiş deri bölgelerinden alınan biyopsi örnekleri ile idiyopatikkutanöz müsinözis tanısı konulmuş, metilprednisolon asetat enjeksiyonu ve sefaleksin uygulanmıştır. 2 yıldır takibi yapılanhasta halen remisyonda seyretmektedir.
