Abstract
Due to the second world war's influence, martial law, in 1940, was declared in the six provinces including Istanbul. This application was extended every six months without discussing in the Assembly until 1946. But, in 1946, as Turkey passed to multi-parties life, this application became to be discussed in Turkish Grand National Assembly. Later, at the end of the discussion, the martial law was extended for only two terms. Then, the government didn't bring this subject on the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and martial law was abolished in 1947.
