A study on time management skills and attitudes of prospective turkish teachers

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the significance levels on time management skills, and attitudes of Turkish teachers according to gender and class variables. Descriptive re- search was used in this study. Data of the study were gathered from students of Ataturk University Kâzım Karabekir Faculty of Educa-tion through the appropriate sampling with a “form on time management skills, and atti-tudes of prospective Turkish teachers”. Chi-square test and descriptive statistics such asfrequencies and percentage tables used in the analysis of the data and data was analyzed using SPSS 16. 00 program. According to the results of the study, although some items on time-management skills according to the class variable are significant; no significant differ- ence was found by gender. There are no significant difference on the attitudes of the prospective teachers according to both varia- bles.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkçe öğretmeniadaylarının zaman yönetimi becerileri vetutumlarının cinsiyet ve sınıf değişkenlerinegöre anlamlılık düzeylerini tespit etmektir.Çalışmada betimsel araştırma yöntemlerindentarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanınverileri Atatürk Üniversitesi Kâzım KarabekirEğitim Fakültesi Türkçe Eğitimi Bölümündeokuyan öğrencilerden uygun örnekleme yoluyla “Türkçe Öğretmeni Adaylarının Zaman Yönetimi Becerileri Ve Tutumları Formu” ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ki-kare testi ve betimsel istatistikte kullanılan frekans,yüzde tabloları kullanılmış, veriler SPSS 16.00programında çözümlenmiştir. Çalışmanınsonuçlarına göre, öğretmen adaylarının zamanyönetimi becerilerinde sınıf değişkenine görebazı maddelerde anlamlı fark olmasına rağmen cinsiyete göre anlamlı fark bulunamamıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının tutumlarında da her iki değişkene göre anlamlı fark yoktur.
