Abstract

n this article, it will be examined the elements of Azerbaijani Culture in Cihan AKTAŞ’s novel ‘The last day of Azize’. Cihan Aktaş, in the tales of his this novel, refers many elements of Azerbaijani Culture-like traditions and customs, meals, elements of folk literature. The writer, in his novel named ‘The last day of Azize’, cites ‘Kız Kalesi’, one of the most important symbols of Baku, and leg- ends about this castle. Kız Kalesi shades almost into a hero in the novel. Second novel of the book has the title ‘Yeşil Dallı Küçeler’. In this novel, folk songs, an im- portant part of folk culture, becomes an instrument which is used to express a love story. The young hero of the tale, Sehavet Memmedov, cries for his love which he left behind, as listening the folk song, “Küçelere su sepmişem”. The hero of the tale named ‘Nesimi’s Returning’, is a writer and tries to compose a writing about the Poet, Nesimi. The aim of the writer is writing a play which portrays Nesimi, an important poet of Azerbaijani Culture, again in today’s world. The hero of the tale named ‘The light of Orange Garden’, while waiting for her husband who was banished, tries to find solace in preparing a meal up to the traditions in Nevruz. The aim of this article is to take a look at the cultural elements of Azerbaijani culture again, from the sight of a Turkish writer. The most important point which calls attention in the tales of the writer is the tales being warm and sincere. The writer of the tale, Cihan Aktaş, observes like an Azerbaijani writer and quotes this ob- servation to his readers with an objective speech.

Cihan Aktaş, bu kitabındaki hikâyeler- Aktaş, in the tales of his this novel, refersde Azerbaycan kültürüne ait pek çok many elements of Azerbaijani Culture-likeunsura- adetler, gelenek ve görenekler, traditions and customs, meals, elements ofyemekler, halk edebiyatına ait unsurlar folk literature. gibi- yer vermiştir.Yazar “Azize’nin Son Günü” adını taşıyan hikâyesinde Bakü’nün önemli simgelerin- den olan Kız Kalesi’nden ve bu kale ile ilgili efsanelerden bahseder. Kız Kalesi hikâyede adeta bir kahramana dönüşür. Kitaptaki ikinci hikâye “Yeşil Dallı Küçeler” başlığını taşımaktadır. Bu hikâyede ise halk kültürünün önemli bir parçası olan halk türküleri bir aşkın anlatılması için bir araç haline gelir. Hikâyenin kahramanı olan genç, “Sehavet Memmedov’un söylediği “Küçelere su sepmişem” türküsünü dinle- yerek geride bıraktığı aşkı için gözyaşı döker. “Nesimi’nin Dönüşü” adlı hikâyenin kahramanı bir yazardır ve şair Nesimi hakkında bir eser yazmaya çalışmaktadır. Yazarın amacı Azerbaycan kültürünün önemli bir şairi olan Nesimi’yi günümüz dünyasında yeniden canlandıran bir tiyatro oyunu yazmaktır. “Portakal Bahçesi Işığı” adlı hikâyenin kahramanı olan Nahide, sürgündeki eşinin yolunu beklerken Nev- ruz bayramında adetlere uygun bir sofra kurarak teselli bulmaya çalışır. Bu makalenin amacı, bir Türk yazarının kaleminden Azerbaycan’a ait kültürel unsurları tespit etmektir. Kitabın yazarı Cihan Aktaş, Azerbaycanlı bir yazar gibi gözlem yapmış ve bu gözlemlerini okuyu- cusuna tarafsız bir dille aktarmıştır.
