Preoperative diagnostic importance of conventional radiographies computed tomography and nasal endoscopy in patients with chronic sinusitis

Abstract
Patients with, chronic sinusitis must undergo a preoperative diagnostic evaluation in order to achieve desired result and to avoid any possible complications during the operation. For this purpose, 60 adult patients with chronic sinusitis symptoms were evaluated. The cases were evaluated prospectively by conventional radiography, computed tomography and nasal endoscopy. In this prospective study, conventional radiographies remain inadequate in the preoperative evaluation of those patients with chronic sinusitis. In conclusion, ideal method is the use of computed tomography in the coronal plane and diagnostic nasal endoscopy together.

Kronik sinüzitli ^ hastalarda cerrahi tedavinin yönlendirilmesi ve operasyon sırasında ortaya çıkabilecek komplikasyonlardan kaçınmak için iyi bir preoperatif diagnostik değerlendirme zorunludur./Bu amaçla, kronik sinüzit semptomları olan 60 erişkin hasta değerlendirmeye alındı. Konvansiyonel radyografiler, komputerize tomografi ve nazal endoskopi kullanılarak prospektif olarak çalışıldı. Bu prospektif çalışmada; preoperatif değerlendirme için konvansiyonel radyografilerin yetersiz kaldığı, komputerize tomografi ve diagnostik nazal endoskopinin birlikte kullanılmasının ideal metod olduğu sonucuna varıldı.
