Abstract
The author report a case of adult-onset triventricular hydrocephalus caused by aqueductal stenosis in a 34-year-old man with von Recklinghausen's neurofibromatosis. The patient presented with a 2-months history of progressive headache, vomiting, gait disturbance and urinary incontinence. Computerized tomographic (CT) scan showed mid dilatations of the lateral and third ventricles, and established the diagnosis of aqueductal stenosis. He was benefit from inserting a ventriculo-peritoneal shunt. The incidence of hydrocephalus due to aqueductal stenosis in neurofibromatosis and importance of CT and magnetic resonance imaging in diagnosis of the stenosis are emphasized.
Özet
Aqueduct stenozunun neden olduğu triventriküler hidrosefali saptanan von Recklinghausen nörofibromatozisli 34 yaşındaki erkek bir olgu bildirildi, Hasta iki aylık ilerleyici başağrısı, kusma, yürüyüş bozukluğu ve idrar kaçırma öyküsü veriyordu. Bilgisayarlı tomografide (BT) lateral ve üçüncü ventrikülün orta derecede genişlediği, aqueductal stenozun olduğu saptandı. Hasta, uygulanan ventrikülo peritoneal şant yerleştirilmesinden yarar gördü. Nörofibromatozisde aqueduct stenozuna bağlı hidrosefalinin görülme olasılığı üzerinde durularak, tanıda BT ve manyetik rezonans görüntülemenin önemi vurgulandı.
