Abstract
In this study, we aimed to examine how the phenomenological method, which is one of the modern methods, is used in human sciences with mathematics-geometry. The phenomenological method was developed by Husserl as a reaction to the 19th century philosophy in general and to the empirical-positivist method in particular. He used the term phenomenology in the sense of both a doctrine and a method. Phenomenology is not based on a particular epistemology as a starting point. On the contrary, it is a special philosophy that deals with the investigation of the cores. And the phenomenological method is an effort to apprehend the essence of phenomena and facts beyond emotions and events. In other words, it is a introverted subjective method used to achieve the core. The objective of the phenomenological method is just to show how to achieve the cores, nature of facts. The phenomenological method is a special method of knowing and is primarily based on intuition. Its main rule is to return to self. The phenomenological method is a complicated method consisting of many steps such as phenomenological attitude, orientation, bracketing, phenomenological reduction and phenomenological reflection. Phenomenology can be used as a method in many sciences including mathematics, geometry, logic, psychology, sociology, anthropology, history, linguistics, literature, art, religion and physics. However, every science must use its own phenomena. Mathematics should examine math phenomena; psychological, psychic phenomena; sociological, social phenomena; history, historical phenomena and physics, physics phenomena. Phenomenology suggests that science should not be concerned with anything but phenomena. Phenomenological method enlarges the field of existence of human sciences, preventing them from being stuck in determinism. It also prevents epistemological breaks between subject and object. In the study, this situation was examined by giving different examples from many sciences.
