Abstract

Carl Gustav Jung is one of the pioneers of the science of psychology and is known as the founder of analytical psychology. One of the important terms that he brought to psychology literature is the “archetype”. The term archetype, which can mean the main example, the first example, the first model, was considered by Jung as the core structures of the collective unconscious. Jung basically defines four archetypes, but according to him the number of these archetypes is actually unlimited. One of the many archetypes that Jung defined is the child archetype. Puer aeternus is included in this archetype as “eternal childhood”.

Carl Gustav Jung psikoloji biliminin öncülerinden biri olup analitik psikolojinin kurucusu olarak tanınmaktadır. Jung’un psikoloji literatürüne kazandırdığı önemli terimlerden biri “arketip”tir. Ana örnek, ilk örnek, ilk model gibi anlamlara gelen arketip kavramını Jung kolektif bilinçdışının çekirdek yapıları olarak değerlendirmiştir. Jung temelde dört arketip tanımlamıştır. Ancak ona göre bu arketiplerin sayısı aslında sınırsızdır. Jung’un tanımladığı çok sayıda arketipten biri de çocuk arketipidir. Puer aeternus ise “ebedî çocukluk” olarak bu arketip içinde yer alır.
