Abstract
Abstract: Arif Nihat Asya, who spent two years of his civil service life (1959-1961) in Cyprus, published his poetry book, which he named Cyprus Rubais in memory of these years, in 1964, three years after this duty. The homeland poet, who somehow reflected the geography of every homeland he visited in his poems, did not neglect the features related to Cyprus, and mentioned the word "Günnasir" in his rubais, which caused this article to be written. The fact that he carries the local pronunciations of the words, not the original forms of the words, is remarkable in terms of showing the importance he attaches to the folk saying and the richness of the vocabulary that this saying creates. Besides emphasizing that the word meaning 'wild rose' may be a corrupted form of the word gül-nesrin, attention will be drawn to another possible form.
