Phases of Cerh-Tadil in Science of Hadith

Abstract

Cerh-tadil has an important place among sience of Hadith due to it isinvestigate reliability of hadith narrators. Initially nonsystematic cerh-tadilgained a new dimension with phases. The first scholar who mantioned aboutcerh-tadil's phases and gave them systematically is Ibn Abi Hatim. In thisstudy, at first it was described the outlines the meaning of cerh and ta'dîl andreasons that leading to the judgment of cerh and tadil. Then, it were investigatedcerh and tadil's wordings and phases through the agency of these five names IbnAbi Hatim, Zehebi, Iraqi, Ibn Hajar and Sahavi. Because of mentionedscholars has used the same cerh-tadil's wordings in different phases in order toresolve the confusion that occurs in the mind these phases are shown incomparison with a table

Hadis râvîlerinin güvenilirlik durumlarını incelemesi nedeniyle cerh-ta'dîlhadis ilimleri arasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Başlangıçta sistematik olmayancerh-ta'dîl mertebeler ile birlikte farklı bir boyut kazanmıştır. Cerh-ta'dîlmertebelerinden ilk kez bahseden ve bunları sistemli olarak veren isim İbnEbî Hâtim olmuştur. Bu çalışmada önce cerh ve ta'dîl'in mahiyeti ile cerh veta'dîl hükmüne götüren sebepler ana hatlarıyla açıklanmıştır. Sonra İbn EbîHâtim, Zehebî, Irâkî, İbn Hacer ve Sehâvî olmak üzere beş isim üzerindencerh ve ta'dîl lafızları ve mertebeleri incelenmiştir. Adı geçen âlimlerin aynıcerh-ta'dîl lafızlarını farklı mertebelerde kullanması nedeniyle zihinlerdeoluşan karışıklığı gidermek amacıyla bu mertebeler mukayeseli olarak birtablo ile gösterilmiştir
