CHANGES IN INTRA INDUSTRY TRADE IN LOW, MEDIUM AND HIGH TECHNOLOGY MANUFACTURING SECTORS BETWEEN TURKEY AND OECD COUNTRIES

Abstract

Intra-industry trade, is of goods and services with the same or similar factor intensity in production or, two-way trade of goods and services that are close substitutes for each other as the demand side. Intra-industry trade, is extremely important in terms of the determination of competitive aspects and of foreign trade gains of the country and industry. The aim of this study is to determine the level of intra-industry foreign trade in low, medium and high-tech products in the manufacturing industry sector between Turkey and The OECD countries and changes occurring in the the sectors. In this study, the using Grubel- Lloyd (1971) and Brülhart (1994) indexs of intra-industry trade measurement methods has been analyzed the development of intra-industry trade between Turkey and the OECD countries for the period 1995-2015 and it has been revealed whether structural changes in the manufacturing sector

Özet

Endüstri-içi ticaret, üretiminde aynı veya benzer faktör yoğunluğuna sahip mal ve hizmetlerin veya talep yönüyle yakın ikame olan benzer mal ve hizmetlerin iki yönlü dış ticaretidir. Endüstri içi ticaret ülke ve endüstrilerin dış ticaret kazançlarının ve rekabetçi yönlerinin ve belirlenmesi açısından son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye ile OECD ülkeleri arasındaki dış ticarette imalat sanayi sektöründe düşük, orta, yüksek teknolojili ürünlerde endüstri içi dış ticaret düzeyini ve söz konusu sektörlerde meydana gelen değişimleri belirlemektir. Çalışmada endüstri içi ticareti ölçme yöntemlerinden Grubel-Lloyd(1971) ve Brülhart (1994) endeksleri kullanılarak 1995-2015 dönemi için Türkiye ve OECD ülkeleri arasındaki endüstri içi ticaretin düzeyi analiz edilmekte ve imalat sanayi sektöründeki yapısal değişim olup olmadığı ortaya konmaktadır
