Abstract
Frequently encountered in our country, gynecological cancers have multidimensional adverse effects on women's health. Despite that, developments in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological cancers have increased the patients' expectations of quality life, making the life lengths of such patients longer. That situation has changed the dimensions of treatment and support provided and also led to positive shifts in the responsibility and duties of nurses. Today, the approach to cancer patients is a topic handled in accordance with s uch a ttitudes aspatient's readiness to accept her own situation and to understand the importance of early diagnosis, the nurse's developing patients' skill of maintaining their lives and her taking role in the terminal stage of the disease. Such an approach brings new responsibility for health professionals in a variety of service fields.
