Abstract

Validity and Reliability Study of thePostpartum Self Evaluation QuestionnaireThis research was conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Postpartum Self Evaluation Questionnaire which was developed to evaluate the adaptation of women in the early period following childbirth.The research population consisted of a total of 420 women who lived in Denizli province center, were between the 3rd day and the 6th week postpartum, were between 20-38 years of age, knew how to read and write and knew Turkish, had delivered their child vaginally, lived with their husbands, who did not have and whose infant did not have any physical or psychological illness or disability. After the tool was used with the sample group, it was given to 100 mothers for the second time ten days later for test-retest reliability.The questionnaire was developed by Lederman and Weingarten in 1981, contains 82 items and has seven subscale internal consistency reliability between 0.81 and 0.92.The internal consistency reliability coefficient to evaluate the reliability of the Turkish version of the tool was found to be a high level( =0.87), and the subcategory internal consistency reliability coefficients varied between 0.64 and 0.84. Based on the result of the Pearson correlation analysis conducted to evaluate the tool's reliability no items were removed from the tool. The test-retest reliability coefficient that added all of the tool's items was found to be at a high level (r=0.87).As a result of this study, Postpartum Self Evaluation Questionnaire is validity and reability for Turkish society.

Bu araştırma doğum yapan kadınların yeni döneme uyumlarını değerlendirmek üzere geliştirilen “Postpartum Kendini Değerlendirme Ölçeği’nin(Postpartum Self Evaluation Ques-tionnaire) güvenirlik ve geçerliğini değerlendirmek için yapılmıştır.Araştırmanın örneklemini Denizli il merkezinde yaşayan, postpartum üçüncü gün ile altıncı hafta arasında bulunan, 20-38 yaşları arasında,okuma–yazma ve Türkçe bilen, vajinal doğum yapmış, eşi ile birlikte yaşayan, kendisinde ve bebekte fiziksel ya da psikolojik bir rahatsızlık/sakatlık olmayan toplam 420 kadın oluşturmuştur. Ölçek, örneklem grubunda uygulandıktan sonra test-tekrar test için on gün arayla 100 anneye ikinci kez uygulanmıştır. Lederman ve Weingarten tarafın-dan 1981 yılında geliştirilen ölçeğin 7 alt boyutu ve 82 maddesi bulunmakta, toplam ölçek ve alt ölçek iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayıları 0.81 ile 0.92 arasında değişmektedir.Türkçe’ye çevrilen ölçeğin güvenirliğini değerlendirmek için yapılan iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı yüksek düzeyde ( =0.87), alt grupların iç tutarlık güve-nirlik katsayıları 0.64 ile 0.84 arasında bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin güvenirliğini değerlendirmede madde toplam puan analizi sonucuna görer=0.30-0.59 arasında bulunmuş ve hiçbir madde ölçekten çıkartılmamıştır. Ölçeğin test-tekrar test güvenirlik katsayısı ise yüksek düzeyde bulunmuştur (r=0.87). Bu sonuçlara göre ölçeğin Türk toplumu için geçerli ve güvenilir olduğuna karar verilmiştir.
