Abstract
Autism is a pervasive developmental disorders that is characterized by impairmentsin socialization, communication and stereotyped behaviour. Early diagnosis of autism is important for nurses, this process includes evaluating the children’s skills and developmental levels that are appopriate to their ages..Nurses and primary health care workers can assess of autistic children by analizing risk factors and risk defining. Risk defining points out the tendency to the problems that are possible. Nurses who provide care in prenatal and postnatal periods can play an active role in the early diagnosis of an autistic child by preparing an checkup material to inform. For this purpose, they can use a checklist that is called CHAT(Checklist for Autistic Children in Toddlers) and bring out the risk of being autistic .
