Postoperative complications dependent on malnutrition and nursing care

Abstract
Surgery or illness promote a stress response, resulting in protein-calorie malnutrition. Malnutrition is cause delayed postoperative recovery and complications, longer hospital stays and increased mortality and morbidity. The nurse plays a critical role in the ongoing assessment and care of the malnourished client, while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to provide nutritional therapies and prevent complications.
Özet
Cerrahi ya da hastalıklar stres cevabını artırarak protein-kalori malnütrisyonuna neden olmaktadır. Malnütrisyon, postoperatif iyileşmede gecikmeye ve komplikasyonlara, hastanede kalma süresinin uzamasına ve morbidite, mortalite oranlarında artmaya neden olur. Hemşire multidisipliner ekip ile birlikte, malnütrisyonu olan hastanın, değerlendirilmesi ve bakımında, beslenme tedavisi ve komplikasyonların önlenmesinde önemli bir rol oynar.
